Breaking Dawn

Posted by SalesianLibrary on August 13, 2008

The wait is finally over for fans of the Twilight series by Stephanie Meyer! The forth book in the series ‘Breaking Dawn’ was released on the 4th of August, and the Library has three copies. We’re taking reservations at the moment, as the three copies were borrowed out straight away! For more information about the book Amazon has reviews as well as a video from the author.

Olympics

Posted by SalesianLibrary on August 8, 2008

The countdown for the Olympics is pretty much over. Tonight is the opening ceremony for the Beijing Olympics! To celebrate that and the upcoming book week (the theme is Fuel your Mind) I’ve been put in charge of doing an Olympic themed display for the Library. There’s olympic rings, lots of different flags, heaps of books on the Olympics, a running medal tally and much more. I’m also going to have the Olympics showing on the TV in the Library classroom everyday at lunchtime.

During book week, which runs from the 18th to the 22nd of August, there’s a few exciting things happening in the library! We’ll have:

  • a daily quiz for each homegroup – small prizes will be awarded
  • a visit from the author James Moloney to the year 7 English classes
  • a movie running during lunchtimes in the library classroom
  • the olympics running in the main area of the library

Here’s some pictures, or to see it better why not come down to the library to check it out!?

For the latest updates on the games The Official Site of the 2008 Australian Olympic Team or The Beijing Olympics Site are both great websites.

GO AUSTRALIA! 🙂
