Stop the Whaling!

Posted by SalesianLibrary on May 29, 2008

Did you know….

  • 1,400 whales are killed every year
  • 25,000 whales have been killed for commercial purposes since 1986
  • 7 of the 13 species of great whales are still endangered!

Why?
The simple explanation behind the continued decline in the whale population, is that some countries, including Japan– are still whaling, despite the international ban on whaling!

Sign the Petition!
Take a couple of minutes out of your day to help stop the whaling in Japan. All you have to do is click here and sign the petition, and at the same time create your own oragami whale. Maybe we can help in the fight to save these beautiful creatures.

I believe it is too. However, it’s not in countries like Japan and that’s where we’re trying to stop it from happening.
